Contamination

Hi,

Has any member of this list encountered with the problem of pink bacterial
contamination in cultures infecting the cultures irrespective of age of the
culture, days in culture and species. I have observed this contamination
often paralleled by presence of Fusarium in the culture room. Could it be
said that these bacteria too are mite-borne? We tried to identify the
bacteria using standard biochemical methods as described in the Bergeys
manual. We could reach only upto family level. They appear to belong to
pseudomonadaceae, may be to the genus Pseudomonas. Can anyone suggest the
probable source and control measures for this bacteria?

Regards,

Swati
