Yes, I know a pink bacterium occuring now and then in my and some colleagues'
cultures.

No, I don't think so. I also had a mite problem, but this was always associated
with a white fungus that is orange where it contacts the medium.

Personally I am convinced that contamination by the pink bacteria is caused
by tissue culturists and only a question of handling at the clean bench.
