these refernces have been posted to the list last year, they all deal with
pink-pigmented methylotrophic bacteria. Apparently these bacteria can
persist for a long time in cultured tissues without being noticed because of
their specific growth requirements. PPFMs can be detected by culture on a
medium with methanol (see http://henson1.ssu.edu/~mahollan/leaf.html)
