Dear Dr. Swati,

Has nothing changed in the last 3 years?
- People handeling the cultures?
- Status of the laminar flow bench?
- Contamination pressure in the Lab?
and much, much more...

You mentioned in your request, that the bacterium infects the cultures
irrespective of age of the culture, days in culture and species. This indicates
a general problem. In my experience in tc for the last 12 years in 4 different
labs with very different ways of doing tc I found that the practice/handling at
the bench has a great influence on contamination rates, irrespective of the
regime in the lab concerning hygiene, lab design etc.

However, I hope you can solve the problem.

Maybe you can let the list know you experience with the methanol medium and how
the pink bacterium story goes on. It is definitely very interesting for many
list members.

Good luck,
Bernhard.
