Re: 8-azacytidine
Hi Meriel,
Is it not 5-azacytidine( in the pyridine ring of cytocynine 5th carbon atom was
replaced by nitrogen atom), an analogue of cytocynine ? Where the 8-azacytidine
is comming from???.. also refere to trade names/similar products....DHAC or
1,3,5 Triazin or 5ACH.
The very first report on the use of 5-Aza in plant TC has come from Lorz's
lab(Germany) Brown et al TAG;78: 321-328(1989). If I remember correctly they
reported no obvious use of 5 Aza in plant TC; but recent studies showed very
significant positive results..
I am also planning to use in my maize TC expt., if you find some thing
exciting result please do share the results...
