A brief introduction to a synthetic plant hormone C-751

   C-751 is a novel synthetic hormone with potent activity. The unique
invention will afford TC scientists a rare opportunity of promoting in-vitro
plant growth to there advantage. C-751 is a light brown powder and readily
soluble in water .It presents weak basicity. It doesnâ^À^Ùt burn and corrode.
It is stable in use. The main active ingredient of C-751 is sodium naphthenate.
Its molecular formula is CnH2n-1COONa (n=5â^Ô^Ä8).
   As a kinetin-like compound, C-751 demonstrates the characteristic
specificity of physiological effects with little of restrictions. It too can
interact with other plant hormones (auxin and cytokinin, etc.) and represents a

powerful synergy. As a new addition to the plant hormones, C-751 shows
pronounced effect in terms of induction of in-vitro plant tissue, cell or
protoplasm growth, differentiation and complete plantlet regeneration. C-751
also has a certain effect on virus inhibition. C-751 can promote cell division
and vertical enlargement, induce callus and sporophytes formation, enhance
activity of various enzyme in plants, induce protein synthesis, control the
expression of a group of genes. C-751 can increase inductivity in the monoploid
breeding ï¼^Ìanther culture and tissue culture of seaweed, stimulate chlophyll
synthesis.
  Its rational cost-effectiveness made it applicable to large-scale fast
micropropagation projects of many species, including ornamental plants. C-751
is also suitable for leaf surfaces spraying of test-tube seeding after its
transplanting so as to sturdily grow, fortify photosynthesis of plant, reduce
the transpiration and increase survival rate of the transplantation. C-751 is
also widely used to promote rooting in cuttings. Years of tests and practical
application have proved both the safety and effectiveness of C-751, whose
performance was equivalent to and in several categories was superior to that of
kinetin. Another advantage of C-751 is super easy to apply. Put 1 g C-751
powder into 15 ml hot water (over 80 â^Ä^Ã), it dissolves easily, itâ^À^Ùs the
stock solution. Itâ^À^Ùs unnecessary to use any special solvent. The
recommended concentration is 1 mg/L. The concentration of spraying should be
500 times as much as the stock solution. It can be seen that C-751 has great
