The dna extraction protocol they give is very easy to follow and they
explain everything well.  It is intended for a high school class to do in
less than 2 hours with common supplies.  I have not doen this exact
protocol before, but there is no reason that I can see that it wouldnt work
for a variety of tissues.  The only problem I see is that you will be
extracting long strands of DNA that will break with excessive handeling.
If you plan on doing extensive work with the dna, I would recomend a
commercial DNA extraction kit.
