Re: Light spectrum
Dear Ariadna,
The spectrum of visible light supplied by fluorescent tubes is most often used.
For cost efficiency most folks use regular 32 (T8) or 40 watt (T12) 4'
fluorescent fixtures. You can get some benefit from far red light on elongation,
but you can also control that with cytokinin/ auxin ratio or gibberelic acid. If
you search the archive, you'll find some great posts on cost, installation,
cooling requirements (electronic ballast vs. "choke" type). Best to use T8's
powered by electronic- you can recoup the installation costs most quickly,
and you have more efficient lighting and installation.

Dear TC
I would like to know if someone could advise me about what is the best
range of the light spectrum to work with plants in tissue culture.
Thanks
