Re: sterilization of explant segments

In my lab we are using DOMESTOS (you can find it in
supermarkets, is a cleaning product).
Steps:
- prepare a 10% solution (in dist. water)
- keep the bulbs in 70% alcohol for 1-2 minute(s) (in
a recipient with lid)
- remove the alcohol and replace with Domestos
- from there work in the hood
- keep the bulbs in Domestos for 20 to 30 minutes
- remove the alcohol and rince thoroughly (till there
is no foam left) with distilated sterile water

I hope that this will help.

Good luck,
Simona
