Re: Determination of Developmental stage of ovules
Dear Delphine,
we have used often a staining procedure to determine the development stage
of apricot ovules and similar procedures are used with other fruit trees.
It consists of inclusion in parafin, serial sectioning and staining with
different dyes such as safranin.
However, I would not called it a simple technique. If you only are
interested in ovule viability I remember of some papers where a
fluorocromatic staining is used in a much simpler way, but they first made a
comparison between both methods in order to be sure of what their results
meant.
If you are still interested, please contact me in my personal address
instead of the general one.

Subject: Determination of Developmental stage of ovules
Dear Tcers,
I need help with a staining/light microscopy or other
simple technique that can be used to determine the
developmental stages of ovules(un-pollinated) and
their viability.
Any clues??
Kind regards,
Amah Delphine
