Re: alcohol in autoclave?

Hi,

Why do you need to sterilize 70% alcohol?

But going back to the question, I don't think the autoclave will get harmed
since it's only a small amount. Your alcohol, however, will not be 70%
anymore after autoclaving since a lot of the alcohol in it will volatilize.

If you really need a sterilization procedure, why not just filter-sterilize it?

Dear colleagues!
I have a question; please help me to find an answer. What will happen if I,
by mistake, will autoclave 50 ml of 70% alcohol in a glass (150 ml volume)?
Glass is cowered with piece of a foil. Will it result in explosion?
Personally, I think there is no risk for explosion, but I need to ask your
opinion, my dear colleagues!
Thank you in advance,
Elena
