Re: Transportation of Tissue Culture Plants

I would suggest that normal chlorinated drinking water would be more
suitable that distilled water for two reasons.

Distilled water would be absorbed rapidly by the plants, because of the low
salts, causing them to become water-soaked and vulnerable to bacterial and
fungal rots.

The light chlorination in tap water would reduce bacterial and fungal
growth, and the moderate salt levels would reduce the amount of water
absorbed by osmosis.

Dear Members,
Can any one suggest the best transportation method for TC plants.

We are transporting currently lot of Ornamental plants to USA, Australia,
Newzealand and other countries different varieties of ornamental plants as
ex agar as well as invitro. But still we get complaints from our customers
that some plants sent as exagar are rotton or dehydrated.
We pack sterile plants washed and packed in carton boxes and also take
necessary steps like wrapping them with sterile tissue paper etc.

Please suggest some good methods
Thanks
HML
